TACKLING HATE SPEECH ONLINE

From youth-focused training to counter religious discrimination to
anti-hate speech toolkits, our efforts are making a difference in
combatting hateful speech. Our research, under the UNESCO project SOCIAL
MEDIA 4 PEACE, looks into how local coalitions in Kenya, Indonesia, and
Bosnia-Herzegovina can address the challenges 'harmful content' poses to
local communities.

GLOBAL RIGHT TO PROTEST

Our recommendations on the right to peaceful protest were included in new
UN guidance, empowering activists worldwide. As part of our #FREETOPROTEST
[5] campaign, we're also campaigning to end police brutality at protests,
empower local communities, and reform laws to make protest safer for
everyone.

FIGHT AGAINST SLAPPS 

The rise of corrupt elites using strategic lawsuits against public
participation (SLAPPs), to intimidate and silence free reporting and block
the public from having access to information, poses a dangerous threat to
the safety of journalists and our ability to keep abuses of power in check.
ARTICLE 19 and the CASE Coalition [7] have pushed relentlessly to urge
governments to take bold measures to counter abusive litigation against
journalists.
