Trump would rather sacrifice our parents, grandparents, and high-risk family members in order to protect the bank accounts of his wealthy friends. We can’t let this happen.

This is Trump’s most dangerous move yet, John.

In order to protect his billionaire CEO and Wall Street pals, Trump announced that he plans to “re-open” the economy in a matter of weeks. This goes against all of the public health guidance we’re seeing from doctors and other experts.

Trump would rather sacrifice our parents, grandparents, and high-risk family members in order to protect the bank accounts of his wealthy friends. We can’t let this happen.

We refuse to put all our lives at risk by forcing people to go back to work in the middle of a pandemic. Add your name to demand a bottom-up bailout that provides direct relief to workers – not one that forces them back to work and endangers lives for the sake of corporate profit.

Tell Congress: We need a bottom-up bailout »

While other countries are taking bold steps to protect lives and their economies, Trump would choose to let potentially millions of people die rather than to directly provide urgent relief. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Germany will spend more than $40 billion to help small businesses cover basic needs to stay afloat during the crisis. Meanwhile, the Danish government has promised to cover 75-90% of salaries if businesses do not lay off their employees. South Korea’s employee retention program will cover 70% of wages or more.

And, as you read this, our Congress is negotiating a $2 trillion dollar relief bill that could be put up for a vote at any moment. That’s why we need to take action now to make sure that this bill prioritizes people, not ultra wealthy corporations, and keeps us all safe.

Add your name now if you support a bottom-up bailout that includes direct cash assistance, paid sick leave, expanded unemployment insurance, and student debt forgiveness – not one that tells Americans to go back to work and risk their lives.

We refuse to choose between our livelihoods or our lives.
