It's now becoming clear that Democrats see the coronavirus pandemic as a tool to achieve their political goals even if that forces Americans to suffer even greater losses.
“This is a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision,” U.S. Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) told his fellow Democratic lawmakers during a recent conference call.
This is why House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) stalled the most recent coronavirus response legislation so she could add a number of unrelated provisions.
Pelosi and her fellow Democrats think this is the time to pass Green New Deal mandates, new powers for labor bosses, required same-day voter registration, and even $35 million for the Kennedy Center.
It's shameful and it shows why these politicians can't be trusted.

AMERICA'S FUTURE
It's also starting to become clear that many Democrats want to keep America in perpetual lockdown even if it destroys the lives of millions of Americans who need to work to provide for their families.
President Trump is right that we can't allow the proposed cure for this virus to be worse than the problem itself. We've learned a lot about healthy practices that will allow Americans to be productive without spreading the coronavirus.
Americans who don't live in outbreak hot spots or who are at low risk of serious illness should be allowed to return to work soon.
But none of us should be surprised if liberal politicians and liberals in the media continue to call for widespread closures, mandates, and welfare programs.
Like Congressman Clyburn, many Democrats also see the economic collapse as a 'tremendous opportunity' to force millions of Americans into greater government dependency.
We can't allow that to happen. Americans want to be able to live free and independent lives.
The coronavirus threat is real and it must be taken seriously by all Americans. This requires commonsense steps to avoid transmission and it requires continued work and productivity.
