Let me reiterate that, John: The leading cause of death for children is guns.

Our children are at risk. My two kids are at risk. And what’s worse is that we know exactly what we can do to save them, yet our lawmakers refuse to act.

The former leading cause of death for children, car accidents, has diminished because safety measures that have been continuously added for years: Seat belts, air bags, and lane change alerts. So why can’t we do that with guns?

So many tragedies, intentional or unintentional, could be avoided if we implemented the common sense gun violence prevention measures that have been proven to save lives. That’s why I’m coming to you today, and asking you to stand up for our children, for children across the country.
