John,
We recognize the month of February as Black History Month — a time to honor and celebrate Black Americans’ monumental contributions to our nation’s history. The cultural landscape of West Michigan, much like the rest of our country, is deeply enriched by the diverse achievements of Black Americans.
This month, as we embrace this rich history, we’re also reminded of the work still ahead of us to achieve racial justice and true equity in our nation.
I’m proud to have spent my career working towards social justice — championing racial equity through voting rights, tackling disparities in housing and education, and combating discrimination in the justice system. I look forward to continuing this work in Congress.
Wishing you a happy Black History Month!
Sincerely,
Hillary
