Last night, many House Democrats and I voted against a $17 billion aid package for Israel that would fuel a war that has killed thousands, primarily women and children. This package is a blank check for Netanyahu and his far-right government with zero humanitarian assistance for the people of Gaza, hundreds of thousands of whom face famine and lack access to medical treatment. Israel had the right to defend itself following the October 7th Hamas attack, but the U.S. should never have given Netanyahu and his administration the green light to bomb civilians in the manner we've witnessed over the past many weeks.
