41 million Gen Zers will be eligible to vote this year. Taylor Swift can encourage them.

Sign the petition to call on Taylor Swift to use media buzz to help register more voters!

Dear MoveOn member,

Taylor Swift is one of the most influential artists of the past decade. She has the opportunity this year to use her influence for good by helping register new voters ahead of the 2024 general election. And with 41 million Gen Z voters eligible for the first time this election, we need celebrities like Taylor Swift to use their platform to mobilize people to the polls.1

Over the last few months, the media has been extensively covering Swift's relationship with Kansas City NFL player Travis Kelce, and Swift's appearances at the football games has generated over $331 MILLION in value for the NFL team.2 There is no doubt about it: Taylor Swift has massive influence.

If we come together, we can encourage her to use that influence to empower people to vote. Will you sign the petition?

Taylor Swift endorsed President Joe Biden in 2020 and tweeted that "we will vote [Donald Trump] out."So it's no surprise that far-right Republicans and twice-impeached and disgraced former President Donald Trump are already starting to spread their anti-Swift propaganda and conspiracy theories.4 MAGA supporters are afraid of Swift's success and cultural power, and they are doing everything they can to dissuade the influential artist from using her voice to make a difference in this election.

In a recent interview with The Guardian, one voter confirmed that Swift could "potentially, absolutely change my mind politically."5 And she's not alone. Last year, Swift posted an Instagram story with a Vote.org link, and the organization reported more than 35,000 voter registrations following her post—in just 24 hours.6 We need Taylor Swift's reach and enthusiasm headed into a high-stakes general election this fall.

Let's give MAGA something to talk about. Add your name to call on Taylor Swift to flash a QR code to the press and break voter registration records this election!

The media love to report on Taylor Swift. Following the announcement of her relationship with Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce, she has been a common sighting at NFL games—with press panning to her every chance they get. And now she may even make an appearance at the 2024 Super Bowl, one of the most marketable events, with more than 100 million viewers.

But her reach extends even beyond the 2024 Super Bowl. Swift has a new album coming out in April and the continuation of her viral and successful Eras Tour, assuring that she will continue to be in the media spotlight for the rest of the year (and, let’s be honest, for years to come).

Taylor Swift has frequently complained about the amount of media and press coverage she gets. But she can leverage that attention to register new voters and protect our democracy—at the Super Bowl, with her new album release, and throughout her fall Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift has broken records at the Grammys, American Music Awards, and on the Billboard top charts. She routinely sells out stadiums for her shows, and the Eras Tour is the highest-grossing tour of all time—even higher than Elton John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.7 Add your name to call on Taylor Swift to help break even more records this election by helping to register voters.

Thanks for all you do.

Want to support MoveOn's work? Book bans have skyrocketed thanks to right-wing state laws which have forced teachers to remove books from their classrooms. In response, MoveOn is launching a "Banned Bookmobile," filling it with books that the far right has banned, and driving it around to hand out those books, for free, in highly trafficked areas that will attract media attention. To keep the Banned Bookmobile up and running into 2024, we need your help.
