A few weeks ago, I sent you an email detailing DC Republican leaders’ hypocrisy on immigration: After more than a year of saying that immigration and border security are their number one priority, they are now refusing to support a bipartisan deal – or anything else, until after the 2024 election.

Why?

Because Donald Trump opposes the deal. He doesn’t want a deal because then he can’t use immigration as the #1 issue in his campaign. And the rest of the GOP leadership all started flipping on the compromise, and trashing the very deal they themselves had asked for, and then negotiated. It was sad to watch up close, and to watch them go after the very leaders they had asked to negotiate on their behalf. All because they were scared, to a man, to even slightly contradict Donald Trump.

I joined local TV this week to talk about the absurdity of immigration politics right now. You can watch that interview by clicking here.
