Virtual Event: Dispelling Demographic Delusions
[[link removed]]
You are invited to join us for an event with Dr. Jane O'Sullivan, who was featured in the December issue [[link removed]] of Population Connection magazine. Dr. O'Sullivan will discuss her research, which questions the reliability of the population projections made by the United Nations Population Division and other large demographic agencies. She examines the reasons demographers have assumed that high-fertility countries would see more rapid fertility declines than have actually occurred over the past two decades. And she explains how these fertility assumptions have resulted in projections that consistently underestimate future population size.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn more about population projections and their limitations, and about actions governments can take to foster the fertility declines that demographers keep expecting to see. The event takes place on Thursday, February 22, at 4:00pm EST/1:00pm PST.

YOUR Support Makes Our Global Partners Program Possible!
[[link removed]]
Thanks to the support of Population Connection members throughout 2023, we were able to raise an incredible $591,844 for our Global Partners program. Every dollar raised for this program goes directly to our current partner organizations , most often in the form of grants or gifts for "general support" so that they can determine where best to utilize the finding. Their work directly impacts the people in the communities they operate in each and every day—supporting our mission of stabilizing global population through rights-based solutions.
You can read more about our Global Partners—and ALL of the program activities that your support made possible in 2023—on our website.
