Politico just reported that the Senate Leadership Fund — a super PAC run by Mitch McConnell’s allies — booked $7.2 million worth of TV ads in Maine.
That is a staggering amount of money, and they promised that “this initial investment won’t be our last.”
We knew this was coming, and it’s just the latest sign of how vulnerable Susan Collins is.
They’ll stop at nothing to try to protect this seat and Mitch McConnell’s majority.
This is the same super PAC that told Republican donors that their goal was to raise $200 million to spend this year.
It’s clear that this will be the most expensive Senate race in Maine’s history.
