As we attempt to explain the problem of world hunger and our impact at Rise Against Hunger, it feels a bit like a thousand-mile journey. Where do we begin? Globally, 783 million people do not have enough to eat – a number so large it’s difficult to wrap our minds around. Rise Against Hunger served more than 4.4 million people across 38 countries last year – so many people in dozens of countries that most of us have not had the opportunity to meet or visit. Again, an endless journey comes to mind.
What if you could take one step by connecting with people in just ONE of those countries and really understand their lives, their challenges, their hopes and dreams?
Over the next few months, we aim to do just that with our It Starts With a MealTM: Philippines impact series.
The series will take you on the ground to hear from children like Patricia who are eating daily meals that you packaged, to hear from mothers like Elizabeth who are volunteering in food banks and coming together to start their own small business, and to see farmers like Baltazar who are tilling the soil in a sustainable farm to support Filipinos facing hunger and providing for their families at the same time.
We are so eager to share these stories with you, starting with the brand new video at the bottom of this email.
There is so much more to come, and as we embark on this journey together, we ask that you join us not as an observer, but as a partner in this impact. Donate today to meet immediate, urgent needs, and help create lasting solutions to hunger in the Philippines.
