Each February, we celebrate Black History Month — a time dedicated to recognizing the profound impact Black Americans have had on our nation's history, culture, and identity.
Since the founding of the United States, Black Americans have played pivotal roles in shaping its future. From the courageous leaders of the abolitionist and civil rights movements to the countless trailblazers in arts, sciences, and every facet of society, their contributions have left an indelible mark on the soul of our nation.
Like so many in our community and across the Commonwealth, my team and I are honoring Black Americans for their leadership in the transformative movements of the past, present, and future that have changed our country for the better. And as we commemorate Black History Month, let us also recommit ourselves to the ongoing fight for racial justice and equality.
This is a time to amplify Black voices, uplift Black stories, and commit ourselves to the pursuit of a more inclusive and equitable society. It’s vital that we listen, learn, and stand in solidarity with Black communities to see that dream become a reality.
I know that together, we can and WILL build a future where every American is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Happy Black History Month!
