Dear Supporter,
The House of Commons will be debating emergency legislation in order to help Canadians get through this coronavirus crisis, but there’s a problem we need to fix.
Media outlets are reporting ([link removed]) the draft legislation contained extreme language that could allow cabinet to make decisions to tax, spend and borrow money with zero accountability for up to 21 months.
If passed, such a law would let Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who doesn’t even have a majority, do whatever he wants for almost two years.
Obviously, this is totally unacceptable and must be stopped.
We need your help. Please take two minutes right now to email the party leaders and tell them to remove these extreme powers from this bill or to vote it down:
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh

Bloc Leader Yves-Francois Blancet

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May

We’re in the middle of an emergency and we all need to work together, but we should never give any government unlimited power and a blank cheque with no oversight.
Sincerely,
* Aaron, Shannon, Todd and the rest of the CTF team.
