autism whose life changed when his family discovered the adapted
karate program at his local Easterseals. He has taken part in a number

"Patch," who was unemployed and without permanent housing
when he first came to Easterseals. Today, he has a great job, a house,
and a truck - and enjoys fishing, volunteering, and spending
time with his daughter and grandchildren.

time in a very long time, I enjoy coming to work."

their children - like Adelia, who was diagnosed with Down
syndrome at just two weeks old. After learning everything she knows
about Down syndrome from Easterseals, Renee is getting Adelia the
support she needs to attend preschool and meet her developmental
milestones. And both Renee and Adelia have made lifelong friends at
Easterseals.

Renee says the Easterseals community "feels like a family
- one beyond those friends and family you had. A family that
feels each other's triumphs as well as each other's pain."
