John, I expected the primary campaign to be intense, but there’s one thing that caught me by surprise: endless Trump-style attacks being lobbed my way. 

As a gay woman, I’m used to it - it’s just that it usually doesn’t come from my fellow Democrats. On the bright side, I’m getting plenty of practice to take on a Republican in the fall! 

I have the expertise and the experience to keep this district blue, but we’re running out of time to raise the funds needed to combat my opponent and the expensive national consultants running his campaign.
