One year ago today, Mandela reached out to you to announce his next step: The launch of his PAC and our movement, The Long Run.

Today, as we celebrate all that we have accomplished over the past year, we wanted to re-share Mandela’s initial message with you and reaffirm our commitment to electing changemaking candidates up and down the ballot this November and beyond.

Since our launch, we have received a wealth of support from this grassroots coalition, and the response has been humbling. Over ten thousand of you have chipped in since then to build a true grassroots movement ready to take back the House majority and protect the Senate.

But as we approach November, we are going to need your continued support to sustain the momentum of this movement. The only way we can continue supporting Democrats is with you by our side.

The Team at the Long Run

Running has taught me winning a race isn’t about what you do on race day — it’s about how you’ve trained and prepared. You have to devote time and resources in early phases to prepare for that run. And it takes a community supporting you every step — and every mile — of the way.

Running for office is the same. It’s hard. It’s grueling. It takes a lot of time, patience, and most importantly, people believing in you from the outset.

Today, I am launching The Long Run PAC to support diverse candidates who are ready to fight for our democracy.

Supporting candidates nationwide will require all of us working together, and it will take a significant amount of resources. You generously contributed to my Senate campaign, and now I am relying on your support again to ensure we can start as strong as possible.

All over America, changemaking candidates are stepping up in ways we’ve never seen before. They are shattering ceilings, breaking new ground, and redefining what a winning candidate looks like and where they come from.

And, like I was, every single one of them is being asked countless times: “Can you win?”

The answer is yes. But it takes support, resources, and people believing in them.

The Long Run PAC is my way of helping to support those candidates. Young Candidates. Candidates of Color. LGBTQ+ Candidates. Working Class Candidates. Candidates who are breaking the mold and positioned to win crucial races all over America.

Candidates who will help us retake the House, flip state chambers, and make real and lasting change up and down the ballot.

Candidates who will work to rebuild the middle class, protect their communities against special interests, and work to ensure everyone, regardless of their ZIP code, has a fair shot at the American Dream.
