With such important elections ahead, GLSEN continues to fight to protect democracy through an education system that supports all students.

Last year, with your help, we were able to accomplish amazing feats in the movement toward equitable education for students across the nation.

In 2023:

GLSEN’s staff, our chapter network, partner organizations, and allies in state houses across the country, were able to defeat a majority of the over 800 anti-LGBTQ+ bills that were introduced in 2023.
We fought book bans around the country and sent out over 2,400 sets of GLSEN’s Rainbow Library books and resources to schools, giving more students access to materials that reflect their own identities and experiences. Rainbow Libraries are now available to over 6 million students across 31 states.
Over 60,600 students benefited from GLSEN’s inclusion training of approximately 2,000 educators, administrators, and other school officials in 2023.
2,500 communities throughout the United States were mobilized to Rise Up for LGBTQ+ Youth.
