While Democrats in the House and Senate are working hard to put legislation in place to help workers and working families from the economic impact of this pandemic, the Senate Republican relief package instead enriches multinational corporations with little accountability.
In a new low, they are demanding a half a trillion-dollar slush fund for corporations with weak accountability measures that can be waived by the Trump administration.
I’m doing everything in my power to fight for a better bill.
We must take action to help the economic security of Americans — putting workers and families first.
Sign here to join me in demanding that Republicans work with Democrats to help the American people — not just big corporations and wealthy donors!
That’s why I’m fighting for:
- All Americans to receive $2,000 every month this crisis continues so people and families can pay rent, buy food, and medication
- A 90-day moratorium of all evictions, residential & commercial, to prevent landlords from evicting people & small businesses who are struggling because of the crisis, and direct assistance for renters & homeowners.
- Grants for small businesses, nonprofit organizations & cultural institutions, not just loans
- President Trump should invoke the Defense Production Act to ensure hospitals get protective gear and desperately needed life-saving equipment
- Asking the State Department to ensure all Americans abroad can safely return home during this time
- Urging DOJ to slow down moving prisoners into federal jails and releasing people they can like those who are waiting for pretrial and low-level offenders
- Financial support for vital public transportation agencies like the MTA
Now is not the time for partisanship, we must work together to help our citizens — especially those that need it the most.
Tell Republicans: stop playing political games and start working with us to help prevent more suffering for working families!
We’re all in this together,
Jerry
