I’ve been in politics for a long time, and I know what it takes to win a tough election. I’ve spent my career working with Democrats nationwide and I know a rising star when I see one.

So take it from me: Lisa Blunt Rochester has what it takes to make history and become the first woman and Black person elected to serve Delaware in the United States Senate.

Lisa was one of a handful of Democrats to win in 2016 – she even became the first woman and Black person to represent Delaware in Congress. She’s the type of leader we desperately need representing us in the Senate.

Representation is simply too important to our party, and our country, for us to not do everything in our power to ensure Lisa wins. But I’ll be brutally honest with you: Lisa faces an uphill battle because Black women candidates raise on average one-third of what their white counterparts do.
