Marjorie Taylor Greene gets into wild online spat about bathroom habits and the Ku Klux Klan
The venomous, petty, and perpetually hostile Georgia Republican had a bizarre exchange with Democratic Rep. Jim McGovern, claiming on Twitter that the Massachusetts congressman takes his suit jacket off and lays it on the bathroom floor while he's doing his business. Okaaaay. McGovern apparently provoked Greene's ire by calling her a clown (true) and "leader of this charade" (also true), referring to Greene's now-failed impeachment of Homeland Security Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas. McGovern then dropped the mic, asking Green, "What are you doing in the men’s bathroom, aren’t you late for a klan meeting?" We think we'd all like to know the answer to that.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: Appeals court uses surprise tactic to prevent further Trump delay
The disgraced ex-president will stop at nothing to delay his trial until after the 2024 election — but a federal appeals court just cut off his last lifeline, setting up a showdown at the Supreme Court that could change the history of our nation forever.

US Republicans fail to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas
In a humiliating defeat for Speaker Mike Johnson and Marjorie Taylor Greene, three Republicans — Reps. Tom McClintock, Ken Buck, and Mike Gallagher — crossed the aisle to stymie Greene's incredibly stupid and performative effort to impeach Homeland Secretary Mayorkas for...what, exactly, is unclear. Something about the border, we think? But seeing how Johnson's House refused to even consider the bipartisan immigration agreement reached in the Senate, in which Democrats gave stunning concessions to Republicans, it's obvious that like everything else, Republicans don't actually care about immigration or the border, they just want talking points, soundbytes, and podcast content with which to smear President Biden and advance their personal agendas.

McConnell admits defeat on border deal: "It will not become law"
After four months of negotiation, the GOP torpedoed its own border deal with Democrats despite them making major concessions on harsh anti-immigration policy in exchange for weapons funding for Ukraine and Israel. Unwilling to give President Biden anything that might even resemble a win, opposition from Donald Trump and his hardliner House minions ended up stripping away support. Immigration advocates will be glad to see the bill fall; the reforms greenlit by Democrats in the deal are a stunning return to the draconian deportation policies of the Trump administration and even include $650 million for a border wall. Adam Isacson, a migration and border expert, told the BBC that previously these kinds of policies would have been "unthinkable" in US politics.

Ronna McDaniels offers to step down as RNC chair
More like Goner McDaniels, right? Heyoooooo! The embattled RNC chair announced she was willing to resign just a day after Trump declared there needed to be "changes" in party leadership. Once a Trump favorite hand-picked for the role, McDaniels fell into disfavor with her unforgivable decision to proceed with GOP primary debates — which Trump refused to participate in — and a weak fundraising haul for 2023, finishing the year with just $8 million in the bank. Whether or not there will be an election for her replacement or the swift installation of a Trump loyalist remains to be seen.
Nikki Haley suffers embarrassing defeat, loses to "none of these candidates" in Republican primary
Nikki Haley once declared that "nothing could stop us" ...and she was absolutely right. "Nothing" handily trounced her in the Nevada primary, receiving more than double her vote share despite her having no real opposition in a humiliating rebuke from GOP voters in a critical swing state. Unfortunately for Haley and her donors, South Carolina law dictates that she must carry this campaign to term, even if it's not viable. [RETWEET THAT!]

Trump make FATAL miscalculation, screws his OWN campaign
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: Major misstep.
LAPD officer kills intoxicated man holding a stick
A police spokesperson later told reporters that the shooting was justified because "any object can cause harm... depending on how it’s used." Such a laughably unserious excuse should be provoking outrage from a public that spends countless millions of dollars in tax dollars to train police officers, some of whom are apparently unable to peacefully subdue a drunk guy holding a stick without KILLING HIM.
Tucker Carlson is interviewing Vladimir Putin in Moscow, accuses White House of spying to try to stop him
Oh yeah, we're sure that keeping you from recording yourself tossing softballs to Putin so you can post it on your little website is the CIA's top priority. Also, given Putin's documented habit of killing journalists who upset him, you're probably worrying about the wrong government.
"Literally off his rocker": Inside Trump's bizarre obsession with Indiana
A quiet subplot to an already bizarre 2024 presidential campaign struggling under the weight of Trump's various criminal trials is the con man's recent obsession with the state of Indiana. Like a dumber, lazier Stalin, the Man of Burger is convinced that officials in Indiana are conspiring against him to help Nikki Haley in a primary that will not take place until...May. There's no evidence for any of this, of course, despite Trump's repeated insistence that Haley failed to qualify for the state primary and his ongoing threats to take legal action to challenge her eligibility. The serially indicted grifter's behavior is befuddling to his GOP allies, who can't understand why he would make a public show of fear and weakness over a state that he's won by double digits twice. Clearly, they simply can't grasp the 13-dimensional chess match that the very stable genius is playing against himself.

Seriously, what is in the water down there
And in the rest of the country
Hope...
