Send a Peace in Gaza Valentine to Congress!

<[link removed]>TAKE ACTION! <[link removed]>

Dear John,

100,000. Since the start of Israel's violent aggression on Gaza, the UN estimates more than 100,000 Palestinians have been killed, wounded or are missing under the rubble. For months we’ve witnessed Israel commit genocide in Gaza through our phone screens with full backing from the US government. The latest of their war-mongering activities? Trying to pass a $118 billion supplementary military funding bill through Congress that would give Israel $14.1 billion to continue its indefensible assault on Gaza.

👉 Tell Congress to Vote “NO” to Funding Genocide! <[link removed]>

The Senate recently expanded the initial request from $106 billion, which comes at the heels of the US suspending its funding to UNRWA. Included in the $14.1 billion to Israel is $5.2 billion for missile defense systems. The rest of the bill would be used for more weapons and war globally, including further militarizing the US/Mexico border and operations in the Red Sea. $0 will go to protecting Gazans from Israeli missiles that have already murdered over 32,000 Palestinians.

We can’t help but wonder, where is the love for humanity in Congress? How can they continue to fund such atrocities globally while 70% of Americans polled want a ceasefire? In the spirit of love for humankind, join us in demanding Congress say YES to restore funding to UNRWA and a ceasefire, and NO to more weapons and war by sending them a peace in Gaza Valentine! <[link removed]> This Valentine’s Day, CODEPINK co-founder Medea Benjamin will be delivering your Valentines to Congress and making your demands heard. You can also send print or digital postcards with personalized messages to others, here. <[link removed]>

House republicans also failed to pass a $17.6 billion standalone Israel aid bill just yesterday. It was their second attempt at isolating Israel’s funding from the supplementary funding bill since the last attempt failed in 2023. House Democrats were mostly not in support of the standalone bill despite the Republicans’ haste to send more funds for genocide.

👉 Tweet to Your Friends to Send Postcards to Congress! <[link removed]>

While so many Americans lack proper access to affordable healthcare, housing, and food, our tax money is being spent on weapons and war. While 100,000 Gazans are dead, injured, or missing under rubble, the US continues to fund Israel and defund UNRWA, hastening their genocide. We will continue to push back until there is a ceasefire, a cessation of US funding to Israel, and an end to the occupation of Palestine–no matter how long it takes!
