Catherine Truitt just announced a fundraiser with a star-studded lineup of GOP millionaires and billionaires like SAS founder Jim Goodnight and auto parts king Temple Sloan. The invite packet indicates that Truitt is specifically raising funds to save herself from certain electoral defeat in the March 5th primary.
Speaking on Truitt’s behalf is Senator Thom Tillis, arguably the most divisive lawmaker in the eyes of the state’s GOP primary voters. Last year, North Carolina Republicans censured [ [link removed] ] Tillis over his repeated votes for far-left laws.
Tillis enshrined gay marriage in federal law. The senator lobbied his GOP colleagues to vote for the "Respect for Marriage" law but only a few, including him, voted for the bill.
Tillis also enthusiastically supported Biden's gun-grab bill [ [link removed] ] that would allow judges to predict dangerous behavior and issue orders to prevent it by revoking Second Amendment rights. Judges, like anyone else, cannot predict the future, and many law-abiding gun owners could lose their Second Amendment rights.
Last week, Tillis blamed [ [link removed] ] Donald Trump’s influence for blowing up talks for Biden's signature border bill [ [link removed] ]that rewards illegals for entering America. In the Senate bill, two-year work permits will be issued sooner instead of taking months to receive as is the case now. The Democratic mayors of cities like New York and Chicago have made this demand for months.
Senator Tills' support for Catherine Truitt makes sense. Last summer, Truitt participated in a political roundtable [ [link removed] ] to support Tillis' gun-grabbing bill that also funds school counselors.
Over her tenure, Truitt has angered the Republican base by doing the following in her role as Superintendent of Public Instruction:
Hiring and promoting hard-left Democrats [ [link removed] ] in her administration
Allowing teachers accused of child sex crimes to keep a teaching license [ [link removed] ]
Offering CRT training [ [link removed] ] for teachers across NC
Delaying the Republican Parental Bill of Rights [ [link removed] ]
Allowing a Wilmington school [ [link removed] ] to close to American children so illegal aliens can use it
By supporting far-left policies, Tillis has made our county more dangerous, Truitt has made our schools more dangerous for the same reason.
