So here’s what’s up.
Right now, there’s a tie in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives— 101 Democrats and 101 Republicans. But with a special election in Bucks County (HD-140) on February 13, we have a chance to shake things up.
Some quick back-of-napkin math (confirmed with calculators, dw) tell us that: 101 + HD-140 = a PA House Dem majority. 😎
Let’s break this tie, mkay?
First things first: If you or your friends or anyone you know lives in Lower Bucks, make sure you have a plan to vote (hint: you can check your registration status on VSA’s brand new voter page).
Once *that* is taken care of, we could use your help reaching voters. Our partner, the PA House Democratic Campaign Committee, is organizing in-person canvasses and phone banks leading up to Election Day. Join us as we look to break the tie in PA by signing up for a shift (or two or three or four)!
HD-140 is a battleground for Dems in the PA House, and also a bellwether for the presidential 🤯. So Republicans ~rly~ want to win this race too. We’ve got our work cut out for us.
Let’s do this,
Team VSA
P.S. Right-wing goons and losers in PA are trying to do silly little things like overturn elections, limit voting-by-mail, and introduce an amendment to ban abortion. Donate now to support our friends at Promote the Vote as they stop voter suppression in PA.
