The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program has allowed many
Dreamers to remain with their family and friends, pursue education and
work opportunities, and contribute to their communities here in California
and across the U.S. without fear of deportation. But Texas is trying to
stop that.
In another effort to strong-arm national policy on immigration,
Republicans in Texas filed a lawsuit to end DACA, wrongfully claiming it
is unlawful. Rob is fighting back on behalf of Dreamers, including
co-leading a coalition of 22 attorneys general who filed an amicus brief
opposing this cruel, misguided, and irresponsible effort.
The state of California and our country as a whole were built by
immigrants, and DACA recipients are vital members of our communities,
economies, state government, and schools. Dreamers are always welcome in
California.
