Hi, A vote is imminent in both the House and Senate on sending Israel more than $14 billion in security assistance,1 even as Israel’s bombing campaign in Gaza has killed over 27,000 Palestinians. Some members of Congress want to send Israel billions of dollars with no strings attached. But U.S. taxpayer dollars shouldn’t be used to keep funding this deadly war. We have to make our voice heard now and urge Congress to vote NO on sending billions more in U.S. taxpayer-funded aid to Israel. The United States gives billions of dollars in military aid to Israel each year on top of weapons transfers like the $250 million worth of weapons Biden authorized a few weeks ago.2 But Congress can act to stop our tax dollars from funding further violence against the Palestinian people. Congress sending unconditioned military assistance to Israel right now with the death toll rising in Gaza would be an unconscionable show of support for Israel’s military actions. Hamas's attacks must be condemned, but Israel's response has been disproportionate and taken an extraordinary civilian toll. Fueling Israel’s continued disproportionate campaign of violence is the exact opposite of what the U.S. government should be doing. A vote will happen in the next few days, so we must tell our lawmakers to vote NO on sending unconditional aid to Israel. Thanks for taking action, Sources:
