Bridge named after Boots chemist who helped discover Ibuprofen
A pedestrian and cycle bridge that connects the Boots site and Nottingham Enterprise Zone to the University of Nottingham has been officially named, one year after it first opened.
The bridge has been named after Dr. Stewart Adams, a Boots scientist that helped lead in the discovery of Ibuprofen, and an alumnus of the University of Nottingham. For more on the ceremony read more... [ [link removed] ]

Nottingham and Derby receive 161m for transport improvements
Nottingham and Derby have received 161m for transport improvements - the only bid to receive the full amount requested from the Department of Transport.
This forms the second major phase of the Government's 'Transforming Cities' fund, aimed at improving connections between major employment sites and promoting active travel and public transport.

City Council secures 16.7m for Future Transport Zones
Nottingham City Council has successfully bid for a grant from the Department of Transport to be invested in joint projects with Derby to improve connectivity and further encourage use of public transport.
The areas long standing reputation for delivery of innovative, integrated transport schemes was seen as key to the success of the Nottingham and Derby bid.
The cash has come from the DfT's Future Mobility Strategy, which set aside 70m for 18 Transforming City fund regions to bid for. Read more to find out what our 16.7m is planned to be used towards... [ [link removed] ]
