We need net neutrality. But the feckless Federal Communications Commission (FCC) under President Trump caved to corporate interests and voted to strip internet users of their basic net neutrality protections.

Net neutrality encompasses basic rights for internet users, giving everyone from big tech companies to individual creators and startups equal opportunity to succeed on the open internet. This is vital for furthering equality in all parts of our communities, particularly by preventing big cable companies from blocking, throttling or slowing access to sites and services, and from jacking up prices for internet access.
A U.S. appeals court recently declined to reconsider the 2017 ruling that struck down net neutrality, but there is some good news:
The new ruling allows each state to defend net neutrality locally. This is a HUGE opportunity to gain net neutrality protections enacted in states across the country.

Dozens of states are debating bills and executive orders to preserve their community’s net neutrality protections. In fact, California has already passed a bill that restored most of the rules under the Obama-era 2015 Open Internet Act. We need you to help push your state representatives to act right away!
If enough states enact new legislation protecting net neutrality, it’ll be much harder for nationwide companies to enact different rules for each state in which they operate.
