A year ago today, earthquakes devastated Türkiye and Syria, killing more than 50,000 people and injuring over 100,000. Americares launched an emergency response immediately, delivering 16 tons of lifesaving medicine and relief supplies within days to treat survivors of the earthquakes.

Within six months, we provided $3 million in aid. We also delivered lifesaving medicines, surgical supplies and wound care products to support health facilities in Syria. In June 2023, we funded a health clinic in Al Zohoor, treating more than 2,000 patients in its first month of operation.
