WE ACT Update
WE ACT's staff in New York City and Washington, DC are working remotely during this public health crisis. We have had to cancel our April Membership Meeting, Uptown Chats with Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, Earth Day Albany Lobby Day, and Participatory Budgeting training sessions. And our Earth Day 5K Fun Run has transitioned to a virtual race (learn more here ([link removed]) ).
Please continue to visit weact.org ([link removed]) for updates on events and programs. Those looking for information on coronavirus (COVID-19) can find a variety of resources, including links to the leading health authorities, by visiting our Community News page ([link removed]) dedicated to the crisis.
Support for community-based organizations like ours is needed now more than ever. We hope you will continue to support WE ACT ([link removed]) during this crisis. We will continue to do the work we do, and are exploring new ways to do that given the crisis we face. Stay safe. Stay strong. And stay tuned!

VIRTUAL Earth Day 5K Fun Run
Because social distancing will likely remain the norm for at least the next month, we are transitioning our Earth Day 5K Fun Run to a virtual race format. During the week of Earth Day (April 18-26), all registered participants will be able to run or walk the Earth Day 5K at a time and place of their choosing. As opposed to a traditional group racing event, a virtual race will provide the flexibility to practice social distancing while still allowing the opportunity to celebrate Earth Day and support WE ACT.
We encourage you to continue to be fundraising champions, spread the word, and stay safe. Support for organizations like ours is needed now more than ever. And participating in this virtual race, and fundraising for it, will help us stay in the race.
If the “virtual race” concept is new to you, or you’d like further explanation, please visit our race website ([link removed]) to check out our new virtual run FAQ. More Info/Sign Up ([link removed])
