International online rally: how can we help end the war in Ukraine?

Last month, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists cited the war in Ukraine among its reasons for keeping the Doomsday Clock at 90 seconds to midnight. As the second anniversary of Russia's invasion approaches, hundreds of thousands have been killed, many more injured, and the destruction caused by the conflict has left an environmental and humanitarian disaster in its wake.?

Instead of promoting peaceful solutions to the conflict, the British government has advocated escalation - including the head of Britain's armed forces warning the public to prepare for a future war with Russia.?
?
At a time of growing international conflict and instability, CND and the Stop the War Coalition invite you to join us for an international online rally to mark the second anniversary of the war in Ukraine and discuss how this terrible conflict can be brought to a peaceful conclusion.?

Exposing the secrets of Britain's nuclear weapons

First signed in1958, the Mutual Defence Agreement (MDA) is the foundation of the secretive relationship that links British and US nuclear weapons by allowing for the transfer of key technical information and technologies. The treaty underpins Britain's status as a nuclear weapons state and is vital to it maintaining and modernising its arsenal.?

Renewed every ten years, the MDA is up for extension this year - but in true British fashion, this renewal will come without government transparency or parliamentary oversight. CND, in cooperation with investigative news outlet Declassified UK, is hosting an online discussion on the MDA, with the aim to give us a better understanding about why this treaty must be challenged.?

The new cost estimates for Britain's nuclear weapons system are expected to be revealed soon, shedding further light on the colossal sums of public money being spent on weapons of mass destruction.

To coincide with Chancellor's Spring Statement, CND plans to run a full-page ad in The Guardian?on March 9th warning the government and other political parties that every pound spent on nuclear?weapons is an abhorrent waste with no benefit to society. But we need your help!
