PFLAG Connects

Dear John:

PFLAG is here to help you stay safe and stay connected with free support, education, and advocacy resources—as well as opportunities to join the PFLAG National team LIVE!

Support

Finding ways to provide -- and get -- support during this time can be tricky. But this week, cope with your PFLAG hug withdrawal by making an extra effort to check-in with people.

Download (and share!) our guide to ways to be supportive when hugs are off limits! Simply click on the image to the left for a full-size download (click and save), or visit us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram to get a copy and share it there!

Education

Three Steps to Being...

Just because you’re staying in doesn’t mean your learning opportunities should slow down! We’re happy to introduce Three Steps to Being…, a new educational series. Here’s our first installment.

  1. Learn: Check out the resources available at straightforequality.org/allyspectrum to help you find the next step on your ally journey.
  2. Watch: PFLAG Academy Online On Demand sessions for allies include So You Think You Can Ally? Advanced Ally Engagement Skills for PFLAG Chapters and What Would You Do? Tips and Tools for PFLAGers in Tough Situations to help you create conversations about LGBTQ+ equality, manage moments of conflict, and more.
  3. Share: Download one of our Straight for Equality ally cards, fill yours out, and take a photo to post on social media to let people know who you are and what you believe in.

Advocacy

Take Action on March 31st with #TransKids #SoFierce

This year, more than 200 bills have been brought to attack LGBTQ+ people, and many of them specifically target trans kids.

On March 31st--Transgender Day of Visibility (TDOV)--share a video or post a photo and personalize your message. Remember to tag @PFLAG and, most important, use #TransKids #SoFierce--so we can help share your inspirational support of trans kids!

Visit pflag.org/transkidssofierce now for more information on how to share your PFLAG message of support!

PFLAG National and Straight for Equality(TM) LIVE!

We’re taking PFLAG National’s Something to Talk About series live!

Join us on Thursday, March 26 at 4:30PM ET/1:30PM PT for a live broadcast where we'll be talking about Joseph Lynch's Billboard article, "Amid Coronavirus Concerns, Will LGBTQ Pride Fests Still Happen In 2020?"

Read the article, and then join us on Facebook to be part of the conversation

Something to talk about
