Dear John

Thanks to our amazing supporters, we have reached 50% of our target for our latest Empower to Plan partner, AWOCHE Foundation in Kenya. While this progress is inspiring, we still have more ground to cover before our deadline next week. Could you help us reach our goal?

AWOCHE Foundation remains unwavering in its commitment to championing the rights and enhancing the lives of communities in informal settlements in Nairobi, with a particular focus on empowering youth and women. Your support will be instrumental in helping them achieve significant milestones in this effort.

Empower to Plan has enabled AWOCHE to actively engage 100 adolescents in crucial discussions on topics like menstrual hygiene, gender-based violence, and mental health through mentorship sessions.

The impact of these sessions has been profound, with participants expressing newfound knowledge and empowerment.

In addition, AWOCHE has partnered with a sexual and reproductive health service provider to conduct monthly radio talk shows, reaching an impressive audience of over 400,000 listeners. These shows have played a pivotal role in dispelling myths surrounding contraceptives and raising awareness about sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR).

Looking ahead, AWOCHE is dedicated to expanding its efforts by training 20 SRHR and environmental adolescent ambassadors and establishing an environment club in a local school. Furthermore, they will continue the radio talk shows and mentorship sessions to amplify their reach even further.

Your continued support makes a real difference in communities facing poverty and limited resources. Read more about their challenges in our latest blog post: Urbanisation challenges in Kenya’s Nairobi: a tangled web of issues.

Thank you for standing with us as we create positive change.
