The Myth Behind the Movement
In our final chapter, “BLM: Washington, DC – The Myth Behind The Movement,” we examine the protests in DC and the dawning realization that the aftermath of George Floyd’s death was, at its heart, a missed opportunity. While the BLM national organization raised millions of dollars, the local chapters – and other community organizations already working on similar community efforts – saw little to none of the money raised. Instead, BLM engaged in fraud, misdirection, and political activism rather than addressing societal problems. It ultimately led to their reputational demise and extreme discord and damage in the nation’s capital.
