The 24-hour media cycle; a tragedy can seize the heart of a nation, then disappear from the collective conscience as quickly as it arrived. This is Lahaina.
Last year, devastating fires ravaged the community of Lahaina, situated on the Hawaiian island of Maui. The smoke hadn't cleared before the media moved on from the tragedy. The day before we held our first Kingdom to the Capitol stop of the year in Honolulu (more on that later!), we gathered on Maui to pray and worship with Believers still hurting. It was a powerful time of pain and hope, but through it all one thing was clear— God has not forgotten Lahaina. |
