Fourteen years ago, on January 21, 2010, the Supreme Court issued its landmark Citizens United v. FEC decision. This ruling equated the free speech rights of individuals to corporations, opening the door to unlimited corporate spending in elections. Since then, our democracy has been undermined by a wave of special interest money.

This is a terrible system of campaign finance that has allowed the rich and powerful to buy our elections.

Groups like Big Pharma, the fossil fuel industry, and other corporate interests spend unlimited amounts of money to swing elections, undermining the voice and vote of everyday Americans and further eroding trust in government.

In the wake of Donald Trump's presidency, we've seen hard-right judges stacked on the Supreme Court, federal courts, and state courts across the country, delivering devastating rulings that have weakened voting rights, gun reforms, climate protections, and completely overturned abortion rights.

We must fight back and put more Democrats on the courts.
