Hi there! I’m Justin, a Special Olympics employee and an athlete from Special Olympics Maryland. Good to meet you!

Today I’m heading to Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. for “Hill Day”! It’s one of the MOST important days of the year for Special Olympics athletes like me. We lead meetings with senators and representatives to ask them to support Special Olympics’ inclusive health and Unified Champion Schools programs.

I love Special Olympics with a burning passion. I am an athlete with ID who loves playing basketball, softball, golf, and soccer. I am also a Special Olympics Health Messenger who gives presentations and speaks publicly to young people about the importance of inclusive health and our inclusion MOVEMENT! 

It’s because of Special Olympics that I have a second family through the sports teams I’ve played on. I have developed my skills as a public speaker and athlete leader who pushes for more chances for people with ID to get in the game, achieve their personal best, and be treated as equals.

Special Olympics gives me the confidence and bravery to go to Capitol Hill today! My state delegation, my teammates, and my family are all rooting for me. I want to make sure our ENTIRE Special Olympics family is ready to do the same for my fellow athletes – including athletes from your home state! CHEER US ON!!
