Hi ,

(Lea este boletín de noticias en español ([link removed]) ) (한국어로 된 뉴스레터는 여기서 확인해주세요 ([link removed]) )

This was a tough day for our city and for Angelenos. I spent much of today being in communities impacted by the rain, which has caused mudslides, downed trees and flooding.

Our City's first responders are unparalleled. They showed up for us today and I know they will continue to show up for us during the storm and in its aftermath.

After signing a declaration of a local emergency ([link removed]) this morning, LAFD Chief Crowley and I surveyed damage in Encino ([link removed]) , Studio City ([link removed]) and Baldwin Hills ([link removed]) . We were joined by Council President Pro Tem Marqueece Harris-Dawson, Councilmember Nithya Raman and Councilmember Heather Hutt. This evening, President Biden called me ([link removed]) to offer his full support for L.A. as we continue to respond to the storm. I’m grateful for the Governor and the White House’s continued backing.

All through the day, firefighters, police officers, street repair crews, traffic engineers, parks and recreation staff and the entire city family have worked to address this storm. That work will continue tonight as the region is expecting more rain and wind.

We remain prepared and we urge Angelenos to do their part.

Please, get home and stay home and off the roads.
