As Jill said, what’s happening in
Gaza now is the last straw for so many of us. People are sick
and tired of being abused by the political system, and no one
is more outraged than Muslim and Arab Americans who for decades have
watched both war parties kill their relatives and countless innocent
people in the Middle East.
By refusing to fall in line
behind the war parties, Muslim and Arab Americans are showing the way
for all of us to claim our power and demand more from our
democracy. Their courageous stand against the war machine is
a spark that is lighting fires of change across the country. And we
need to spread that fire, because while the people of Gaza are in the
target hairs right now, this machine is pushing us all towards the
cliff’s edge.
That is ultimately what Jill’s
campaign is about: finding the sparks of resistance to the machine
destroying our people and planet, and fanning those sparks into a fire
that can sweep across the country and change the course of
history.
