Working Towards a Flourishing State & Nation ICYMI | WILL Statement on Latest Redistricting Report We released the following statement on the recent report filed by consultants hired by the Wisconsin Supreme Court to assess to new legislative maps: 🗯 WILL President & General Counsel, Rick Esenberg, stated, "The report hides its bias behind a fog of faux sophistication. Let's be clear, our maps have been rejected for one reason and one reason alone, they don’t produce the partisan outcomes the experts or many on the Court want. So, they ignore all the traditional tests for partisan bias. It is what Chief Justice Roberts has called social science gobbledygook: Obfuscation that hides one’s preferences so that it needn’t be justified." 📰 Learn more about this new development in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel or listen to Rick's interview on The Vicki McKenna Show. See Here NEW | Protecting WI's Congressional Districts & Calling on Justice Protasiewicz to Recuse Herself WILL responded to a new effort to overturn Wisconsin’s congressional maps, six months before an election. The case is brought by Marc Elias, a notorious left-wing attorney who pursues political objectives through legal action. WILL has also filed a joint request with the Wisconsin Legislature calling on Justice Protasiewicz to recuse herself from any ruling that revisits Johnson v. WEC. 🗯 Lucas Vebber WILL Deputy Counsel, stated, “Wisconsin’s current congressional map was proposed by Governor Evers and adopted by the Wisconsin Supreme Court in 2022. Any attempt to revisit this ruling and once again alter Wisconsin’s Congressional districts, is both procedurally improper and legally wrong.” Learn More TESTIMONY | Defending Equality for All WILL Deputy Counsel, Dan Lennington, spoke in favor of two reasonable, necessary, and long overdue reforms that would provide true equality under the law for all. 📄WILL supports equality for all. South Carolina Department of Education, calling on the South Carolina Supreme Court to allow the implementation of the state’s Education Scholarship Trust Fund program. 🗯 "It’s troubling to see any attempt to deprive low-income and minority families from educational freedom. Support for school choice is growing across the nation—from Wisconsin to South Carolina,” said WILL Education Counsel, Cory Brewer. “We ask that the South Carolina Supreme Court side with parents and the rule of law, as every child deserves a quality education.” Read Here ICYMI | Our Reaction to Open Enrollment Data We released a statement shortly after the state of Wisconsin released open enrollment data record enrollment in the state’s open enrollment program. 🗯 WILL Research Director, Will Flanders, stated, “New open enrollment data for Wisconsin shows that Wisconsin's largest school choice program continues to flourish. More students than ever are taking advantage of the opportunity to attend school in a district that works better for them. The open enrollment program still has room to improve by allowing more money to follow the kid and making the reasons for denials more explicit.” Read This   Defend Freedom The work we do would not be possible without the generosity of YOU, our donors; we are a tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization that receives no public funds.
