They’re tumbling like dominoes – elected officials who once stood strong against the divisive rhetoric and policies of Donald Trump are now one by one supporting his campaign. It’s shocking and sad to see.

I took a stand against Trump before, and I'm prepared to do it again and again.

During my tenure at the Department of Justice under the Obama Administration, I worked tirelessly to foster fair and strong immigration policies. But the Trump administration derailed well-considered policies with impulsive decisions often announced in late-night tweets. I took a stand and left to work directly supporting Michigan families and defending the Constitution in our community.

The House of Representatives may very well stand as our nation's last line of defense against another Trump administration. Do the numbers – the road to the Senate majority is shaky, and third-party candidates are threatening the presidency again (the Michigan numbers for a Trump-Biden rematch are chilling). As we gear up for the November elections, it has never been more important to have more representatives in Congress fighting for the issues that matter most to the American people.

My race has been named one of National Republicans’ top targets because I’m the first Democrat in 50 years to hold this seat. Your support is critical to keeping this seat and taking back the House.
