Hi John,

Two years ago, more than one million people took to the streets across the United States to demand action to stop gun violence. The March For Our Lives was led by survivors of the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and young people from every corner of the country who were tired of politicians valuing the interests of the gun lobby over the lives of young people.

That day, and the energy it inspired, changed the gun violence prevention movement forever. March For Our Lives helped make gun violence prevention a pivotal issue in the 2018 midterm elections. And that energy helped us elect gun responsibility candidates up and down the ballot. But it is no secret that more must be done.

This November’s election is one of the most consequential in a generation and it will have enormous implications on the future of gun safety across the country. The outcome of this election will determine whether life-saving gun safety policies like universal background checks and closing the Charleston loophole finally become law.

That’s why March For Our Lives Washington is focusing our 2020 efforts on voter registration and engagement. We need gun safety champions like you to join us.
