Dear Friend –
The anti-environment controlled State Senate is trying to take away PA’s clean energy future, and we need your help to stop them NOW!
Here’s what’s happening. Dirty energy supporter State Senator Gene Yaw introduced a bill to completely get rid of any chance of Pennsylvania joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative or ANY carbon reduction or cap and trade system.
This bill has already cleared the Environment Committee and is headed to the floor. It had NO HEARINGS, NO DUE PROCESS, and NO WARNING to our allies in the Senate.
If that wasn’t bad enough, there’s a vacancy in the State House – and if our endorsed candidate doesn’t win in a special election next week, we’ll lose our one-vote majority in the State House, and this bill and others like it could get rammed through.
Friend, this is a make-or-break moment. We’ve deployed our field team, but our resources are running low. Can you pitch in today with a donation of $20.00, and help us win this special election to secure our pro-environment majority in the State House? [link removed]
Right now, we need to step into this fight for RGGI and ramp up voter outreach to elect Jim Prokopiak, who will fight to make Pennsylvania a cleaner, healthier place to raise our families and maintain our pro-democracy majority.
This is the seventh special election to maintain control of the State House that we’ve had to fight in the last year! Our resources are stretched thin, but sitting out this special election isn’t an option.
Will you pitch in $20.00 or more today to support our efforts to elect Jim Prokopiak, keep our one-vote House majority, and make sure this bill never makes it out of the House? [link removed] Together, we need to go all in, and we can’t win this fight without you.
Anti-environment legislators have a slew of constitutional amendments and bills just like this one ready to move the moment they have the majority in the House again. Legislation we’re fighting would keep dirty energy production centered in Black and Brown communities, which experience some of the worst air quality in the Commonwealth.
We’re running digital ads, calling voters who will make a difference, and ramping up our support for Jim so that he gets elected and pro-environment legislators keep control of the House.
But the truth is, our resources are running low, especially as we’re gearing up for a huge election year this November where both chambers are on the line. The scale of our work today depends on members like you.
Donate to our Political Action Committee today so we can continue our work through election day and long after: [link removed] We’re counting on you.
Thank you for all you do,
Katie Blume
