John,
We want to share some grim but important statistics. Last year saw 656 mass shootings in the United States—the second-highest number on record—and tens of thousands of gun-related deaths.1
It’s no secret that the pro-gun conservatives have had a stranglehold over meaningful reforms at the federal level for years. But a new study released by the gun safety group Everytown USA estimates that nearly 300,000 lives could be saved over the next decade if states pass meaningful gun safety legislation.2
One of the reasons we at Sister District believe so deeply in the power of state legislatures is because they can literally save lives. That’s why we are proud to only endorse candidates who believe in common-sense solutions to gun safety.
If you agree that the only path forward to ending gun violence in this country is through meaningful legislative reform, please contribute $20.24 or more today to help us elect strong candidates at the state level.

The truth is that the NRA spends millions of dollars to elect candidates—including at the state level—to push NRA-backed laws that cost us our lives.
We can’t keep waiting for federal gun safety laws—every day that passes means more people at risk. But if we win in state legislatures, we can fight back and pass life-saving gun legislation now.
In solidarity,
The Sister District Team
