We're just one month away from an extremely important date. This year is particularly special because March 5th is both the primary election date and Dave's birthday!

You may recall that we held a campaign launch for Dave on his birthday last year, joined by Rep. Katie Porter, dozens of local elected leaders, and hundreds of friends. We loved the huge gathering of friends enjoying delicious food and birthday cupcakes, and I hope you're with me in wanting to make this March 5th even better.

I'm reaching out personally in hopes you can help make Dave's birthday the best yet. Our family has seen firsthand how Dave works tirelessly as our district's State Senator, legislating on all of the issues of concern to our community and children's future. Following his lifetime of service -- as an SEC prosecutor, working on the Hill, creating policy for Center for American Progress, and as a law professor who now authors strong bills for California -- we know he'll keep making us proud in Congress.

Dave won the community's support and Democratic Party's endorsement despite attacks against him throughout the last year, but in recent weeks, millions of dollars in dark money are flooding into the district to smear Dave. These hit pieces don't represent the Dave that our children and I know and love, his history of service, or his incredible record as a legislator representing the district in which he's now running for Congress. We need your help sharing Dave's positive message. Please also save the date of March 5th to again spend with our family -- hopefully for Dave's best birthday yet!
