Last month, I joined my colleague Senator Tammy Duckworth to introduce legislation to protect the right to access assisted reproductive technologies like IVF.

Since the fall of Roe v. Wade, Republican-controlled states across the country have not only sought to restrict abortion access but also restrict individuals’ access to basic reproductive healthcare, including IVF.

As someone who struggled with fertility issues, this is personal to me. As a mother of two, my children, Clay and Adrienne, mean the world to me, and when I hear how many women across the country struggle to get pregnant (1 in 5), I feel for them.

Fertility treatments and IVF are expensive and difficult as it is for families across the country, so the last thing we need is more restrictions and obstacles for individuals trying to conceive.

While the GOP continues to attack reproductive healthcare and put more restrictions and bans in place, I will fight to protect a woman’s right to choose what’s best for her and her family. The government has no place in an individual’s reproductive decisions.

I will continue fighting for expanded protections for reproductive healthcare, but I need your support to keep me in this fight. Will you contribute to my campaign today to ensure we have what it takes to win and flip the House blue?
