On Saturday morning the John O'Shea campaign was informed of a push poll being conducted in the district by a company called "The Tarrance Group." This is a prominent company that routinely runs "polls" that are designed to hurt targeted candidates by spreading misinformation. They are also very expensive. They typically won't even talk to you unless you are doing a minimum buy of $30,000. Please be on the lookout for any texts or emails from this group. They will come under the name "Clear Insights." It appears that as of now they are conducting only landline calls, but this will certainly shift to texting and emails in the next few days. You can always identify a push poll when they ask questions that start with "would it sway your vote if you knew this..." Below is the misinformation being spread, and John O'Shea's response to each charge. 1. John O'Shea has stated that the Pope is doing a wonderful job?Reply: One of my favorite stump lines is “I’m American… not my president. I’m Catholic… not my pope.”2. John O'Shea supports Kevin McCarthy and thinks he is doing a wonderful job. Reply: Our initial campaign slogan was “Time for New Leadership” and I’ve given numerous interviews where I was quite vociferous in my objections to McCarthy and am glad he is gone. 3. John O'Shea's Wildcatter company was being sued in court?Reply: I sold my interests in Wildcatter to my partners last year and am unaware of the companies being involved in any litigation.4. John and his wife moved to South America, to get free health care?Reply: We moved under an investor visa and did not partake in any social or welfare programs while there. We private paid for healthcare.5. John did not vote in 2016 US Elections.Reply: True. I was out of the country taking care of my family after a very difficult battle my wife had with brain cancer.6. John stated he is not a conservative.Reply: Those words have never left my lips and I am proud to be deemed “too conservative” by Congresswoman Granger. The campaign team would like to thank Tim Johnston, Precinct Chair #1444 for informing us of this push poll. Obviously, we are a threat to those who entered this race over the past few months. We remain committed to running on the issues facing this great nation, and not on creating rumors aimed at destroying the credibility of our opponents. We appreciate all of you for your continued support and ask that you forward this to like-minded friends to make them aware of this development.Best regards,Don SmithCampaign ManagerThe campaign is also committed to not taking money from organizations who expect something in return.
