Friends and Comrades- Unbelievably, the legislative session is more than half over all ready. (Don't get us started on the need for modernized legislature!) Some things we had hoped for seem to be stuck in the gears of the machine, others have been making hopeful progress, like Paid Family Leave and "Dignity Not Detention," which have made it to full votes in the Senate! At this point, we are doubting the House and Senate Memorials calling for a ceasefire in Gaza are going to pass. This is an outrageous dismissal of what the whole world knows: that the ongoing? genocide in Gaza must stop now.

A People's Memorial for Gaza
|
Join Santa Fe DSA and a large group of other allied organizations this Friday, February 9th, at 2pm for a People's Memorial for Gaza. Listen to testimony speaking to the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire. Gather in peaceful solidarity with people of diverse backgrounds to let our lawmakers know that the people of Palestine will not be forgotten.

It's been too long since our chapter put the 'social' in Socialism. Let's plan to join together in comradely celebration the 2nd Saturday of every month to remedy that!
?
We'll meet this Saturday at 5pm at The Brakeroom (510 Galisteo St.) to enjoy each other's company, discuss the state of the world, and think about what our chapter can accomplish in 2024.

DSA depends on support from ordinary members, rather than corporate funding or grants. As we ramp up our campaigns to take on the millionaire and billionaire class in New Mexico, any donations you can provide will go a long way.
