Suddenly Schooling? Tips and Resources:

What to Know: With schools being closed, many of our readers may find themselves suddenly in charge of a bustling home school—whether or not they feel ready.

The TPPF Take: Parents just might be reminded that they’re ultimately in charge of their children’s education.

“Fear not!” says TPPF’s Erin Valdez. “Whether you’re helping your child to log in to a virtual classroom, or trying to help them through some math lessons you only vaguely recall yourself, there are plenty of resources that have been put together by our friends in the homeschooling community. The thing to remember is that you’re working toward a better future for your child, and no one is better to ensure that than you, yourself.”

Where Do the Drugs Come From?

What to Know: After months of being demonized by various presidential candidates, pharmaceutical companies are now being asked to come up with medicines to help with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The TPPF Take: It’s important to understand the pharmaceutical supply chain to understand where price increases are happening.

“Most people understand that manufacturers produce drugs and pharmacies sell drugs, but they probably are not aware of the existence of many of the other entities involved in the process,” says TPPF’s Stephen Pickett. “These entities play an important role, such as packaging the drugs, negotiating drug formularies, and facilitating payments.”

Our Faces, New Places

What to Know: Former TPPF Senior Fellow Mandy Gunasekara has been sworn in as the EPA Chief of Staff.

The TPPF Take: There’s no better expert than Mandy Gunasekara to continue building on our history of environmental success.

“Mandy’s principled leadership at the EPA will ensure the current administration continues to strike the proper balance between responsible stewardship and individual liberty,” says TPPF’s Jason Isaac.
