Truth to Power: Heritage President Calls Biden Out for Border Lies |
Contemptible: President Joe Biden finally admitted that the border is “broken”—then claimed that Congress must pass a bipartisan border bill that senators are crafting behind closed doors before he can close the border.
- That claim prompted Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts to tell Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo that “Joe Biden is a liar. He could control the border right now. He has 100% authority to assume control over our lawless Southern border.” Watch the clip here.
Misleading: Roberts and Visiting Fellows Mark Morgan and Tom Homan co-authored a piece for The Hill exposing how devastating the compromise bill would be for our country.
- The bill would, they write, do nothing to secure the border, “provide billions in taxpayer dollars to bail out sanctuary cities ... and continue to fund corrupt, open-borders non-profits that are deliberately facilitating mass migration into the U.S.” Read about the disastrous deal here.
On the border: The Daily Signal’s Virginia Allen and Tim Kennedy are in Eagle Pass, Texas, the epicenter of the border crisis and destination of the trucker convoy. Follow their reporting here.
Also: Heritage flew the Texas flag over its headquarters building last week to show solidarity with Gov. Greg Abbott’s battle against the Biden administration to install razor wire at border-hopping points.

Congress: Big Tech Won’t Protect Kids Unless You Make Them |
Promises: Congress held yet another hearing with Big Tech CEOs last week on the topic of protecting children online, at which they all promised to do better. But it’s time for them to walk their talk.
- Will they do it on their own? Unlikely.
- “Social media companies are incentivized—if not obligated—to appeal to as many people as possible,” writes Heritage tech policy analyst Annie Chestnut Tutor.

Shocking: Students at Catholic University were shocked when an “abortion doula” spoke to a class about coaching women through abortions and “pregnant men” through what she called a “seahorse birth.”
- The Daily Signal obtained an audio recording of the lecture.
- Shortly after the Daily Signal article posted, Catholic fired the professor who’d invited the doula, saying that the lecture “did not align with our mission and identity.”
