I’m on my way home after an incredible weekend here at Victory Institute training.

 

I first want to say THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to make this trip possible.

The training included important discussions about the importance of being a role model in the community and visibility for LGBTQ+ people; how to respond to personal attacks; and strategies for identifying voters who support issues impacting our community.

 

I’m so grateful to have had this opportunity to connect with everyone there and strengthen our support network.

This weekend was an important opportunity not only to learn from election experts and talk strategy, but to network with other LGBTQIA+ candidates and talk about shared lessons and resources.

 

We’re going to need this support throughout the year as we enter another election with unprecedented attacks on the LGBTQ community. And we’re going to need the continued financial support of this community to flip ID-02 in November.

It’s important for LGBTQ candidates like me to run in states like Idaho, and even more important that we’re positioned to run competitive campaigns and WIN.

 

LGBTQ people exist in EVERY part of our country, and states like Idaho represent the front line of attacks on our community.

 

I’m running for Congress for every shy kid in a small town who feels like no one understands or accepts them for who they are.

 

I’m running because LGBTQ people belong at the table where decisions that impact our lives are being made.

It’s time for change in Idaho, and our grassroots campaign is building on the momentum that began in David’s race for U.S. Senate last cycle. The GOP is not planning to defend this seat, so we plan to take it from them and help Democrats retake the House majority next year.
